My day In Elizabeth NJ
Recently I enjoyed a beautiful day in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The Greater Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce has a lot of recommendations for things to do in the city.
I started by following in the footsteps of Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton arrived here in 1772, and the Alexander Hamilton Walking Tour takes you where he lived and studied. As part of the tour, I visited Liberty Hall, The Snyder Academy of Elizabethtown, and Boxwood Hall. As a fan of the musical, it was thrilling to walk the same floors as the real Hamilton!
Elizabeth is a great place for history lovers. I especially enjoyed my visit to the historic Elizabeth Public Library. The building was built in 1912, but it is located on the site of a famous inn from the Revolutionary War. The library is home to several special collections. The building itself is a beautiful example of a Carnegie library. It hosts a full calendar of events, including children’s activities, concerts, readings, and workshops.
I ended my day with a delicious meal at Mojito Lounge and Restaurant. The restaurant features delicious Cuban food and refreshing cocktails. The lounge offered lively music and dancing into the night. The mix of entertainment and exotic cuisine was the perfect end to a great day.
